COMPOSITION PROJECTS:

This month, The Hermes Experiment will be working with postgraduate compositions at both The Royal Academy of Music and Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music & Dance, culminating in performances at the respective colleges in March:

16 January: The Hermes Experiment visit the Royal Academy of Music for their first workshop with student composers on the Master’s programme, who are working on new settings for the ensemble of poetry by Gillian Clarke. This project culminates in a showcase concert at the RAM on 8 March 2018.

31 January: The Hermes Experiment visit Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music & Dance for their first worhsop with student composers on the postgraduate programme, who are working on new pieces for the ensemble. This project culminates in a showcase concert at St Alfege Church on 29 March 2018.

WORKSHOP & RECITAL WITH HARPIST ANNE DENHOLM:

30 January at Royal Conservatoire of Birmingham – programme including works by Debussy, Darren Bloom and Schumann/Denholm/Werner

JUICE VOCAL ENSEMBLE:

On 3 February, Héloïse joins vocal trio Juice for their first visit to the compositional team at the Junior Department of the Royal College of Music (workshops and returning at a later date to perform pieces composed by students).

THE HERMES EXPERIMENT FEBRUARY  2018 TOUR:

6 different locations in Scotland, followed by our St David’s Hall debut in Cardiff & finally a performance at London’s Foundling Museum.

The tour will feature works by Soosan Lolavar, Giles Swayne, Freya Waley-Cohen, Emily Hall, Misha Mullov-Addado, Josephine Stephenson, Kate Whitley, a beautiful arrangement by William Cole and a première by Joseph Davies (in Cardiff).
