On 11 January 2025, I will join the CBSO to premiere my new suite for soprano & orchestra, conducted by Ilan Volkov. It portrays five magical siren-like characters (me!) as they each control and manipulate the sea (the orchestra!) in strange and powerful ways. The five movements follow the different forces that these mystical beings can exert on the water: the ability to control the tides, to make the waves dance, to pacify the swells, to create and destroy life within the water and finally to make the sea sing. I think it’s going to be a lot of fun and I can’t wait! It’s my biggest piece to date and I’m very proud of it! I hope to see you there, tickets can be bought here.
