This Tuesday (16th Feb), my contemporary quartet The Hermes Experiment presents SONIC VISIONS at The Forge, Camden, 8pm.
The Hermes Experiment will explore ways in which aural experiences have been influenced by visual stimuli. The programme will be led by new commissions that respond to a visual element, as interpreted by composers Kate Whitley and Soosan Lolavar. The concert will also include performances of new graphic scores and the premiere of an animation by Izabela Barszcz based on Ed Scolding’s Black Sea. The programme will be completed by arrangements that explore three very varied composers/songwriters that have been inspired by the world of visual art: Claude Debussy, Richard Rodney Bennett and Don McLean.
We will be repeating the programme at 22 Mansfield Street on 21 March and at the National Portrait Gallery on 6 May. Tickets for Tuesday are available here.
SONIC VISIONS is generously supported by the Britten-Pears Foundation the Hinrichsen Foundation, Britten-Pears Foundation and The Nicholas Boas Charitable Trust.
